Wrigley has developed a chewing gum with “Viagra”
Company Wrigley, the world’s largest manufacturer of chewing gum, has patented a new product, which includes the sildenafil citrate, the active component of the popular drug Viagra.
Consumers are encouraged to use the gum for at least 30 minutes prior to entry into sexual relations. In the patent application states that chewing gum provides a gradual release of the active substance in blood that can increase the effectiveness of its action. At the same time, the company Wrigley says has no plans commercial production of chewing gum with “Viagra”. “There is a big difference between a patent and actually developing the product”. the spokesperson said.
The main obstacle is that currently the drug Viagra used for the treatment of impotence, is patented by pharmaceutical company Pfizer, the patent time of which will be expired soon.
