Viagra improves endurance of the organizm in high altitudes

There is an interesting effect caused by a well-known drug for treatment of erectile dysfunction – Viagra, – that was identified by scientists. Turned out that using viagra increases the endurance in high altitudes. There were series of tests on cycling, which was attended by athletes, cyclists.
A few minutes before the round ten athletes took viagra pill, the rest of sportsmen was given the placebo. There were following conditions of test: height 3900 m above the sea level, 6 km distance and discharged oxygen. By the end of testing it was found that 4 out of 10 volunteers who took viagra, improved their results by 39% finished the distance much easier than usual.
At that time the scientists were not ready to explain the reason only 4 members could improve their results, who, as turned out, coped with high altitude conditions some worse than others before. Viagra did not affect the athletes during the ride. Also the appearances of erection at participants was not observed.
Incidentally, the results produced by viagra in high altitude conditions weren’t surprise. Recently, viagra was approved as a drug against pulmonary hypertension, which may be occured during lack of oxygen. Vessels of the lungs become narrow, that gives an additional burden on the heart that affect the athletic’s performance. Viagra expands the blood vessels and the negative effect simply is leveled.
